Kyran began his journey at FSD in 2017 where he was one of our first students. When finishing secondary school, he achieved 3 GCSE’s. He studied his Level 2 BTEC in sports diploma in his first year and GCSE Maths and progressed well, completing his Level 2 and passing his GCSE Maths, he then enrolled onto our Level 3 BTEC in sports for a further 2 years.

01. How have FSD help me?

FSD have helped me to grow as a person and as a coach to improve. I have gained so much confidence, skills, and abilities since joining the FSD family.

02. How did FSD help your pathway?

FSD helped with my pathway by giving me the opportunity to do a coaching apprenticeship. I did not know what I wanted to do after leaving school, but they helped me stay in something that I love (football). They believed in me!

03. What is it like working for FSD?

I really enjoy working at FSD, I love working with everyone involved with FSD the staff, students and all the volunteers

Since joining FSD Academy

Since joining FSD Academy, Kyran has shown great strengths academically and his technical ability out on the football pitch has really progressed. When his education journey was coming to an end, founders Matt Piper and Owen Johnson looked at Kyran’s new found Skills which had been developed over the 3 years and offered him a chance to join the FSD Staff Team.

Kyran started his community activator coaching Level 2 apprenticeship in 2020, unfortunately his apprenticeship journey began during the pandemic, however, this did not stop Kyran Progressing and completing his education and attending the Academy to work with FSD Academy Alterative Provision Programme. Kyran helped coach, care, and support young vulnerable children throughout the pandemic. From September 2021 Kyran began coaching our young Post 16 students, offering high level technical training alongside our experienced coaches, developing technique and preparing the youngsters for our academy league programme.
